The album is due out the beginning of March.
Local Minnesota Band “Night Moves” just got signed by major record label Domino Records. Here are the two tracks that they have on their bandcamp site, You can download both there for free. Look for their debut album out sometime in the middle of 2012.
Upd: apparently they took both songs off their bandcamp site. You can still listen to both of them on spotify though.
As I mentioned Take Away shows in a previous post, here are a few of my favorite ones:
Iron & Wine:
Vampire Weekend: http://youtu.be/Xn6IZDlJNtc
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zero’s: http://vimeo.com/12439106
Mumford and Sons: http://vimeo.com/12718108

note, the website isn’t English, but it translates fine and it doesn’t really matter for the band names.
Minnesota artist Observer Drift just released their debut album back in January, and then this week had their title track Corridors featured as the song of the day at the Current…
I fell in love with the CD on the first play through, the quality of music throughout is something thats rare to find on any CD, let alone one recorded by a 20 year old entirely at his house. Its great to see the Minnesota music scene continue to pump out talented artists, and hopefully we’ll see much more to come from Observer Drift!
Listen to and Buy his CD here: http://observerdrift.bandcamp.com/
Check out the interview he did with @localcurrent:

Young Magic just released their album Melt earlier this month. This is Sparkly, the first track off the new cd.
Josh Ritter has released a new E.P. called Bringing in the Darlings
![]()
Here’s Why, off the New E.P.
Here’s a video of one of my favorite songs from his album The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter:
The Temptation of Adam
Howler, A local Minnesota band has been getting a lot of attention lately with this song Back of Your Neck and their recently released album “America Give Up”… Has a fun summer time, surfer vibe.
In 2010 Bon Iver band member Sean Carey released a solo effort that is quite exceptional. It falls into a similar genre as Bon Iver does, but has its own feel and sound. Definitely a quality listen for anyone who is a fan of his Bon Iver work. The album is called All We Grow.
A Case of You, Another song from James Blake off his 2011 release Enough Thunder. The same one that has Fall Creek Boys Choir with Justin Vernon.
Cloud Nothings Stay Useless. A new release out in early 2012, not sure how much I love the lead singers voice, but I do like the song quite a bit.
Fun. One of my favorite bands is getting ready to release a new album. They have gained a lot of attention for their single We Are Young. The album isn’t released yet but they have it in its entirety on their website, and I like it a lot so far. Their first album was also excellent and I’d recommend it to almost anyone.
